The global aquaculture industry continues to be the fastest growing animal-food-producing sector, accounting for around half of all fish consumed in the world today. During the two-and-a-half day Offshore Mariculture Mexico Conference, there will be ample networking opportunities including a Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner. The conference will culminate in several technical visits spread over one and a half days, including visits to hatcheries, research laboratories, processing plants and offshore farms.
Thursday 9th - Half day of technical visits to Tuna and Striped Bass processing plants. These will take place in the afternoon after the half day of presentations.
Friday 10th - Choice of two technical visits:
- Option 1 - Sea Tour - This technical visit consists of a boat trip which will visit different offshore facilities including a tuna ranching farm, a striped bass farm and a yellow-tail facility.
- Option 2 - Land Tour - This technical visit will consist of a trip to the Ocean Baja Labs Hatchery where participants will be able to view the different stages of the fish culture process. There will then be a trip to an Abalone farm in the same area. It is not recommended that those wishing to fly home on this day take part on this trip as we are not expected to return to Ensenada until about 5pm.
